The SEO guidelines are DRAFTS

SEO is short for search engine optimization. This means finding ways to make our website, articles and event pages to rank higher on a search engine results page (SERP) so that we receive more traffic. The aim is to rank on the first page of Google results for search terms that mean the most to our target audience.

Here are four things to have in mind every time to write, edit or publish an article on We Don’t Have Time:

  • Use relevant keyword in headlines. When writing a headline, try to add keywords that are relevant for our audience. If the article is about recycling of plastics, please try to make sure to include the words ”plastics” and ”recycling” in the headline.

  • Always use subheadings in articles. Google’s crawlers like subheadings, and values them higher than plain text. As with headlines, try to include keywords that are relevant for the story.

  • Add hyperlinks. When writing an article, a post or a climate review, try to always link to credible sources, like major news publications, universities, and scientific reports. Please also link to other We Don’t Have Time articles, posts, or event pages.  OBS: Check the url of the source and make sure you only link to https and not http when adding links. Google gives us a bad score when we link to http instead of https.

  • Index your article on Google Search Console.

  • Search for trending keywords. For an even better SEO result, you can search for trending keywords that could be used in the headline or in the subheadings to give the article an even better ranking.  Instructions in Swedish here.
