Tomás de Oliveira Bredariol led the analysis on methane emissions in the International Energy Agency's World Energy Outlook 2024 and the Global Methane Tracker 2024. He was also one of the main authors of World Energy Outlook Special Report on The Oil and Gas Industry in Net Zero Transitions. Prior to his arrival at the IEA, he worked as a Policy Officer in the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources, Environmental Permitting Directory, where he was responsible for offshore oil and gas undertakings. He is an Environmental Engineer with a Master in Public Policies, Strategies and Development.
Mariel Vilella is currently leading GAIA’s Global Climate Program, which includes GAIA’s global campaigns and strategies around climate change, with focus on methane and organics management, zero waste solutions to climate change, carbon markets or other international sources of climate finance, engaging in policy advocacy at the UNFCCC and other key international climate policy spaces in collaboration with the wide GAIA network and regional offices.
Sabina joined Ember in 2022 as a Coal Mine Methane Analyst, raising the profile of coal mine methane and promoting the technologies and policies to measure and reduce these emissions. She has over seven years experience in the environmental sector, including work in measuring fugitive methane emissions from anthropogenic sites in Europe. She holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de L’Environnement, and holds an MSci in Physics.
Dan is CEO of Peak Carbon. He is the former founder and global head of BP’s environmental markets division across 4 continents. He is a leading expert in the clean energy sector with 20+ years’ leadership experience and is passionate about delivering large scale impactful emissions reduction projects around the world.
I am a young kiwi scientist, climate activist and adventurer. I am a Blue Carbon Lab PhD candidate investigating seaweed as a climate change solution and I am on the scientific advisory board to the Kelp Forest Foundation. Historically I have had roles as the co-founder of not-for-profit charity Let Them Fish, founder of The Seaweed Solution, Bomb Bucha CEO and contributor to the genesis of Live Ocean. I am currently the founder of Climate Action Company, host of the Both Sides Now political podcast, co-chair of Future Farmers New Zealand and board member for Otago Department of Conservation and WSV2 biochar. I live on Lake Hawea Station; my family farm which is pioneering on farm environmentalism and is the first certified Bcorp sheep farm in the world. I am deeply passionate about the ocean as a climate change solution, but above all live for adventures in the most remote corners of the South Pacific.
Henrik Tegnér is EVP Strategy and Sustainability at AFRY, where he is part of the executive team to lead the strategic efforts towards accelerating the transition to a sustainable society. Previously, Henrik served as the head of AFRY Management Consulting in Sweden. With over 20 years of experience at Accenture, he specialized in management consulting for the Nordic energy sector. AFRY provides engineering, design, digital and advisory services within industry, energy and infrastructure sectors and is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm.
Berliana Yusuf is a Senior Analyst at Climate Policy Initiative, based in Jakarta. At CPI, her current work primarily focuses on just energy transition and methane abatement finance. She has a combined of around 20 years of experience in bank, consulting, and development projects. Prior to joining CPI, Berliana had worked for various projects in energy and finance from international donor organizations, such as Global Green Growth Institute, Asian Development Bank, GIZ, the World Bank, and USAID projects. She also had experience as a credit analyst in a state-owned bank and corporate finance analyst in a private equity investor. She holds Master of Science degree in Development Finance from the University of Manchester, Master of Commerce from Australian National University, and Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology.
I am a climate activist and an impact leader with over 20 years of experience in development, sustainability, and climate change. My mission is to help businesses go beyond standard sustainability practices toward regeneration that restore natural capital while also leveraging their broader influence to drive meaningful societal change. At Oatly, I work as a sustainable eating and public affairs manager focusing on climate issues.
In the past two years, Dorothy has worked as a Project Manager for Global Energy Monitor, leading the Global Coal Mine Tracker, which tracks coal production activities at the individual mine level and assesses the potential methane emissions of each active coal mine. Her role also includes in-depth tracking of methane emissions from abandoned coal mines, an often-overlooked but significant aspect of coal mining emissions.
Anderson Lee is a Research Associate at WRI’s Finance Center, conducting research to advance sustainable finance and sustainable investing in the private sector. He also supports WRI’s efforts to sustainably invest its own endowment. Prior to joining WRI, Anderson worked in several different roles in the financial sector, ranging from public equities investment, private equity, investment banking and equity research.
Aditi Maheshwari has been addressing climate change from both a public and private sector perspective for over 20 years. She currently serves as the Managing Director for Climate Action Implementation at C40, where she leads new programme design and delivery and funder engagement for major urban climate action programmes spanning multiple regions and sectors. She was previously part of the leadership team of IFC’s Climate Business Department, where her areas of focus included sustainable cooling and decarbonisation of heavy industries. Prior to this appointment, she was the Director for Climate Action in the UN Secretary General’s Executive Office. "
Lord Turner chairs the Energy Transitions Commission, a global coalition working out achievable pathways to limit global warming to 1.5C – or well below 2˚C – by 2040 while stimulating economic development and social progress. In addition, he is Chairman of Chubb Europe and on the Advisory Board of Envision Energy. From 2008-2013, Lord Turner chaired the UK’s Financial Services Authority, and played a leading role in the post crisis redesign of global banking and shadow banking regulation. Lord Turner has held high profile roles in public policy: Director General of the Confederation of British Industry (1995-2000); Chairman of the Pensions Commission (2003-2006); first Chairman of the Climate Change Committee (2008-2012). Lord Turner has advised climate and government bodies including the COP Presidency and ministers in the EU, UK, and Australia and is often featured in top-tier global media as an expert on the energy transition.
Ingmar is serial entrepreneur within financial communication and nominated for a DI Gasell Award, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year, Sweden’s Environmental Influencer 2018, and International Gamechanger of the Year 2020, and Green Warrior 2021. Ingmar Rentzhog has been the chairman of the environmental think tank Global Challenge. He is on the board of Naventus Corporate Finance. He’s a member of Al Gore’s Climate Reality and European Climate Policy Task Force and he was in 2022 appointed a European Climate Pact Ambassador by the European Commission.

Falk is the CEO and Co-founder of Exponential Roadmap Initiative, with the mission to accelerate exponential climate action. Falk is the co-lead author of Exponential Roadmap and 1.5°C Business Playbook. Falk is a former Senior Innovation Fellow at Stockholm Resilience Centre and Future Earth. Falk was one of the initiators of the Global Carbon Law idea, together with Owen Gaffney and Johan Rockström, inspired by Moore's Law. Further, Falk was part of Intel Corporation 2006-2018, responsible for Intel IoT Ignition Lab and heading up the Intel Edge Cloud Game Changer program for 5G networks. Falk received the Intel Global Design Win of the Year 2010 for accelerating the telecom business exponentially to a multi-billion dollar business.

Sriram has an educational background in electronics engineering and an MBA, and he has close to 15 years of experience in global leadership roles across sustainability, engineering, strategy, planning and business development. Over the past four and a half years, Sriram has held various roles within the climate agenda in Inter IKEA Group – his latest assignment was to lead the decarbonization agenda within production part of the value chain with Inter IKEA’s home furnishings supplier partners.
Jennie Cato is SVP Head of Public Affairs & Partnerships at Scania where she develop advocacy strategies and implement activities targeting politicians, policymakers, governmental agencies, NGO’s and other influencers, while nurturing relationships and see to Scania’s ability as a trusted partner in driving the sustainable transport agenda. Cato has a background within both industry, the Swedish government and industry organizations, and brings 25 years of experience across tech and engineering driven environments, strategic business development, climate, energy and sustainability policy development in political systems in both Sweden and the EU as well as on a global level. Cato holds a M.Sc of Civil Engineering from Lund University.
Emma Stewart, Ph.D., is Netflix’s first Sustainability Officer, where together with teams from across the company, she seeks to bring Netflix's carbon footprint to net zero, raise environmental awareness through film and television series, and spur conversation on climate action among our hundreds of millions of members in 190 countries. She previously led World Resources Institute’s global work on urban efficiency, climate, and finance. She served on the Board of the U.S. Green Building Council and software company Ecomedes. She has been a member of the professional faculty at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and Stanford Graduate School of Business where she taught “Intrapreneurship for Sustainability”. Her work has been featured in The Economist, Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Financial Times, Reuters, The Guardian, Tribune, The Huffington Post, Environmental Law Journal, among others. She is a contributing author to Corporate Responses to Climate Change and The Encyclopedia of Sustainable Business, and her work is featured in books Frugal Innovation and The Big Pivot. Emma was rated a “Badass Woman in Sustainability” by GreenBiz, a "top 3 speaker" by The Economist Summits, and has been named a “one of the most powerful women under 45” and an “urban pioneer” by FORTUNE Magazine, a “sustainability insurgent” by MIT Sloan Management Review, and one of the “Top 10 Women in Sustainability” by American Builders. Her work has been featured in The Economist, Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Financial Times, Reuters, L.A. Times, and Environmental Law Journal, among others. She is a contributing author to Corporate Responses to Climate Change and The Encyclopedia of Sustainable Business, and her work is featured in 3 books: Frugal Innovation, The Big Pivot, and Chief Sustainability Officers at Work. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Management from Stanford University and a B.A. with Honors in Human Sciences from Oxford University.
Martina has over 25 years of experience in Environmental Policy and Programme Management, with a particular focus on energy, buildings, transport and sustainable cities, as well as partnership building. At the UN Environment Programme, she has served in different functions out of Paris and Nairobi, including in the Executive Office, heading UNEP’s work Transport, Bioenergy, Energy Policy, UNEP's work on on Cities and the Secretariat of the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction, and now heading the Secretariat of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition.
Madeleine holds dual roles within the management team of Alfa Laval's Energy Division.She serves as the President of the Business Unit for Electrolyzer & Fuel Cell Technologies, in addition to her role as the Head of Clean Technologies. In her capacity as the Head of Clean Technologies, Madeleine oversees a wide range of responsibilities, including public affairs, investment and acquisitions, as well as the business development of various applications, such as Energy Storage, Hydrogen and Carbon Capture and Storage. Madeleine's tenure with Alfa Laval began in 2014, during which she has held various positions related to strategy and business development. She is a holder of M.Sc. degrees in both Industrial Engineering and Management, as well as Biotechnology, earned from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.
Mattias Lindahl, professor at Linköping University, has conducted research and teaching in EcoDesign since 1997, research and teaching in Product Service Systems (PSS) since 1999, and research and teaching in Circular Economy (CE) since (2012). He is currently running several large projects, e.g. about design, business and legal aspects related to PSS, Ecodesign, and CE. His research has been in close co-operation with companies, and is currently the program director for a large eight-year-long research program called Mistra REES – Resource-Efficient and Effective Solutions based on circular economy thinking. He is the chairman for the Swedish mirror committee and their main technical expert for the new ISO/TC 323 about Circular Economy. He is also personally cited in the world’s first standard about (BS 8001:2017). He is also a board member of the Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS).
Ambassador Frumerie is also Sweden's Head of Delegation to UNFCCC. Previous positions include head of EU policy, EU single market, Strategic communications, postings in Budapest and Brussels as well as EU advisor in the Prime Minister's Office.
David Radermacher, holding a Master of Science in Energy Economics from the Universities of Aachen and Münster, brings a wealth of experience in the energy sector. After starting his career at BP, he joined E.ON in 2011, excelling in various strategic and business development positions. Having focused on developing strategies for the sustainable cities business, his journey culminated in his appointment as Vice President Sustainability & Climate in 2018, spearheading E.ON's commitment to sustainability.
Thomas is Executive Vice President in Alfa Laval and President of the Energy Division. The Division is responsible for the end to end process for the products and technologies sold in the energy and process industries. The Division has a turnover of approximately 1,3 BEUR with an operating margin above 15% and 5000 employees. After finishing his Chemical Engineering studies at the Technology University of Denmark, Thomas joined an American company for 5 years working with sales and business development of separation technologies in 2002 he joined Alfa Laval and has had several positions focusing on sales, business development, strategy development and execution.
Sean Kidney is CEO of the Climate Bonds Initiative, an international NGO, working to mobilize global capital for climate action. Projects include a green bond definitions and certification scheme with $34 trillion of assets represented on its Board; working with the Chinese central bank on how to grow green bonds in China; market development programs in Brazil, Mexico, ASEAN and Africa; and market tracking services for the green bonds industry. He is a member of the European Commission's Platform on Sustainable Finance, and was a member of its predecessors, the 2017 EU High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance and the EU Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance. He is also a member of green finance committees in China, India, Mexico and Kazakhstan. Sean is also a Professor in Practice at SOAS University of London.
Ivan has been a leading voice for climate action in the banking sector, pioneering efforts on emissions disclosure and target setting. He is the President of the PCAF Board of Directors, a founding member of the UN convened Net Zero Banking Alliance Steering Group, and is a member of the Climate Financial Risk Advisory Committee to the US Government. As CSO for Amalgamated Bank he has led efforts to decarbonize the bank’s portfolio and demonstrate leadership within the banking sector.
Dr. Amiera Sawas is a feminist researcher and advocate who works at the intersections of climate change, gender justice, public participation and the social contract. Amiera has almost 20 years experience working on these issues across academia, think tanks and NGOs. Amiera has a PhD on water, climate and human rights and is a contributing author to the latest IPCC report on gender and climate security. She recently joined the Fossil Fuel Non Proliferation Treaty Initiative as Head of Research and Policy.
As Head of Climate Performance Practice at the Exponential Roadmap Initiative Claire assesses and advises corporates on their climate strategies. Additionally, she works on development of new climate practice, including with the UN Race to Zero campaign, and on tracking and development of standards on greenhouse quantification and climate claims with Oxford Net Zero. Prior to this, Claire worked for 8 years with companies, doing greenhouse gas accounting, sourcing carbon credits and providing advice on claims related to offsetting.
Karin has been Chief Sustainability Officer at Volvo Group since April 2022. She leads the company’s sustainability transition towards a fossil-free future – through a unique approach to cross-sectoral partnership and an ambition to drive sustainable solutions and practices across the supply chain. Her expertise plays a key role in helping Volvo move closer to 100% fossil free vehicles by 2040 while inspiring other industry players to enhance their own decarbonization journey. Prior to this, she held various managerial positions at Volvo Group since 1996, lately as Senior Vice President Public Affairs (2018-2022). She has also held roles as Vice President Group Strategy, President Volvo Technology North America and a number of positions in Research & Development.
Angela Hultberg is a Global Sustainability Director at Kearney, advising clients on sustainability strategy and adoption with a specific focus on the automotive, transport and retail sectors, as well as a variety of managerial roles driving and shaping sustainable strategic directions tailored for Kearney’s valued clients. Prior to joining Kearney, Angela was the global Head of Sustainable Mobility at Ingka group (formerly IKEA Group), focusing on reducing co-worker and customer travel emissions, in addition to setting ambitious goals for zero emissions home deliveries for the brand. Over her career, Angela has gained a wealth of multi-sector sustainability experience, and she was appointed Road Transport Lead for the COP26 Climate Champions team. While a Climate Champion, Angela spearheaded initiatives to accelerate the decarbonization of the transport industry, drawing on her experience with setting IKEA’s goals for zero emission home deliveries.
Deniz Ozkil is an environmental activist and campaigner with a Master’s degree in International and Human Rights Law. They are currently part of BankTrack, an international organization that holds commercial banks accountable for their financing of environmentally and socially harmful activities. In their role, they focus on deterring banks from investing in the fossil fuel industry and advocate for a just transition that prioritizes real climate solutions over false promises.
Annika Ramsköld is Chief Sustainability Officer at Vattenfall. The past years she has been elected one of ”Sweden's Most Powerful People in Sustainability". Ramsköld has a Master of Science degree from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and has worked in Vattenfall for over 30 years with a wide range of assignments from R&D and business development to sales, trading, marketing and strategy within most parts of the organisation. Ramsköld holds, and has held, many board assignments as chair or board member and is active in industry associations, e.g. First Movers Coalition
Giulio brings over 14 years of expertise in advancing corporate climate action. He leads BSR’s climate team, oversees the team strategy, and works with BSR members across consulting, collaborative initiatives, and grants implementation. Currently, Giulio oversees BSR’s work on beyond growth to reconcile business models with planetary boundaries, and more generally works with BSR members on climate transition planning and net-zero value chains. Since joining BSR in 2018, Giulio’s work has focused on Scope 3 implementation through supplier engagement, and commodities decarbonization strategies, both through consulting and support developments open-source guidance such as 1.5°C Supplier Engagement Guide, Transform to Net Zero and Climate Fit.
Anna Hall has a long experience in energy efficiency, innovation, business development, policy making and collaboration between public sector and industry. In her previous work, as the Director for Big Science Sweden, she has been working with cross-function and cross-country collaboration in advanced processes. She has been driving Alfa Laval’s initiative around sustainable cities and has a broad experience in partnerships, both between industries as well as between industry and academia.
Palle Borgström is the President of the Federation of Swedish farmers since 2017. He has extensive experience in board work and a range of trust-based assignments. Between 1989 and 2008 he held several leading roles within the Lantmännen Group and served on the board of Arla Foods from 2008 to 2017. Internationally, Palle Borgström has been a Vice President of the Committee of Professional Agricultural Organisations (COPA) between 2020 and 2024 and a board member of the Nordic Farmers' Central Council (NBC) since 2017. He is also a dairy farmer and runs an agricultural business in Västergötland together with his brother.
Martin Rohner is the Executive Director of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values a practitioners’ network of 70+ banks worldwide dedicated to inclusive and sustainable finance, serving over 50 million clients and representing over USD 265 billion combined assets. Martin has served as CEO of Alternative Bank Schweiz, Switzerland’s frontrunner bank in sustainable and ethical finance, as CEO of Max Havelaar Foundation Switzerland and Board Member of Fairtrade International. Further stations of his career in development finance and sustainable development include the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen and in Environment and Development from the University of Cambridge, as well as a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Executive Banking from the University of Bern.
Emma Wiesner is a Member of the European Parliament for the Swedish Centre Party / Renew Europe, and former energy systems engineer. Emma is a part of the Committees on Environment, the Committee on Fisheries and Committee on Agriculture. Emma works to strengthen Europe's green industries and to cut emissions. Emma was also a part of the COP28 EU delegation.
Jane is Race to Zero’s Engagement and Acceleration Manager and has joined the Climate Champions team as a secondee from Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) where she is working with the EDF+Business team to develop tools to assist companies in their net zero transition. Prior to joining EDF and the Climate Champions Team, Jane worked for the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) liaising with North American member states and partners on key environmental issues including nature, restoration, and water and led regional projects focusing on marine protected areas and plastic pollution action. Before joining UNEP, Jane worked in the sustainable food space with NGOs focusing on food policy, sustainable agriculture, and good food access. Jane has a Master’s degree in Environment, Politics and Development Studies from SOAS, University of London and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Justice Studies from James Madison University. She is now based in New York, where you can often find her painting.
Dr. Takeshi Kuramochi leads projects that analyse greenhouse emission reduction targets and actions for major emitting economies as well as subnational and non-state actors. Takeshi has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and numerous other research reports. Since 2016, Takeshi contributes to the annual UNEP Emissions Gap Reports as a lead author on the chapter assessing G20 countries’ progress on emission reductions. Externally, Takeshi serves as a member of the UNFCCC Race to Zero campaign’s External Peer Review Group and Science Base Targets initiative’s Scientific Advisory Group. Prior to joining NewClimate Institute, Takeshi worked at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES, Japan) and at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University, where he is currently a visiting researcher.
Camila Fernández works at the Climate Champions Team, focusing on supporting non-state actors in tackling the challenges of reducing emissions through Race to Zero. As part of the Expert Peer Review Group (EPRG), she’s passionate about ensuring that sustainability is both practical and fair and that it applies globally.
Farrukh Shad is the Head of Schneider Electric’s Sustainability Business for Asia Pacific, India, Middle East & Africa region (APMEA). He is currently based in Dubai, responsible for managing the region’s Energy, Sustainability Services and Sustainability Consulting organization, with the mission to help large enterprises deliver climate mitigation actions and reduce carbon emissions using technological solutions. Leading the Global Team, he crafts unique strategies & solutions that help clients navigate the multitude of challenges in emerging markets in the region as they work towards meeting their and their suppliers’ renewable energy and carbon neutrality goals.
Arianna Griffa is a Senior Policy Manager at the Institutional Investor Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) where she leads IIGCC’s global policy work and engagement with key multilateral fora. She is also co-chair of the Finance sector group under the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action. Prior to joining IIGCC, she held climate and energy policy roles in the UK government and the private sector, managing a number of international programmes, including large climate finance portfolios and clean energy innovation projects.
Rachel Barr is a climate change and circular economist equipped with over 15 years of experience in the field as an investor, social entrepreneur, and sustainability advisor. She is the Founder and CEO of Climate Tech Propel, a strategic sustainability advisory firm for climate tech startups. Formerly the VP of Sustainability at UBQ Materials, she is currently an advisory board member of Solar Impulse Foundation’s World Alliance for Efficient Solutions. Rachel is frequently featured on i24 New and serves as an advisor for MassChallenge. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, a Master of Environmental Science from Yale University, and a Master of Arts in Public Affairs from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School, where she also pursued a Ph.D. in the Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy Program.
She holds a degree in International Relations and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Political Science at Rio de Janeiro State University. Her research focuses on youth participation in international climate change conferences. She is a researcher at the Columbia Global Center Rio and the Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change. As a climate justice activist, she is dedicated to advocating for equitable, anti-racist adaptation policies.
Abigail Ross Hopper is the President and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association, the national trade organization for America's solar energy industries. A practising lawyer for 10 years, Charlotte Morton studied for her MBA at London Business School before setting up a car club business. Asked to establish the business side of the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) in 2009, she saw the potential of an industry that can deliver huge potential and value to the UK. Given the even bigger global potential, which must be achieved if the Paris Climate Change targets and UN Sustainable Development Goals are to be met, Charlotte played a pivotal role in establishing the World Biogas Association (WBA) in 2016 to promote and increase the rate of uptake of biogas globally. Charlotte was awarded an OBE in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours for her services to the biogas industry.
Jonathan has worked with CATF since 1999 and serves as Global Director of the Methane Pollution Prevention program, where he develops and directs all of CATF’s international efforts to dramatically reduce methane pollution from energy, waste, and agriculture. Jonathan brings over two decades of experience working with governments, companies, and civil society around the world to foster and implement policies to reduce methane pollution. Jonathan works to catalyze international coalitions, country level policies and subnational efforts, to foster rapid change. He also serves on the board of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition.
Giulia Ferrini manages OGMP 2.0 and is one of the co-founders of IMEO. She has 12+ years of experience at the UN where she worked on the design and implementation of climate change projects. Her experience led her to work with governments, financial institutions, the private sector and not-for-profit organisations involved in climate change mitigation. Giulia holds a MA in International Relations from the III University of Rome, in Italy, and a MSc in Politics and Governments from the London School of Economics, in the UK.

Pete worked in the technology sector for 30 years at a variety of companies, including over 20 years at Intel where he was an early advocate for Intel’s investment in open source software and a business development team leader who evaluated investments for the firm's equity arm, Intel Capital.
Catherine Stewart was appointed as Canada’s Ambassador for Climate Change in 2022. She has served since 2014 in various senior executive positions at Environment and Climate Change Canada including Canada's Chief Negotiator for Climate Change, Assistant Deputy Minister of International Affairs, and Director General for Multilateral Affairs and Climate Change. She has worked in the environment and climate change space internationally, building and nurturing key strategic initiatives including the stand-up of the Powering Past Coal Alliance, the launch of the Global Carbon Pricing Challenge and the Ministerial on Climate Action. With over 27 years in the federal government, she has contributed to public policy issues ranging from international affairs, clean technology promotion and trade, defence and security and military procurement. Prior to joining government, Catherine worked on a United Nations peacekeeping and electoral mission in Mozambique.
Prof. Dr. Johan Rockström is the Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Professor at the Institute of Earth and Environmental Science at Potsdam University. Rockström is an internationally recognized scientist on global sustainability issues, who led the development of the new Planetary Boundaries framework for human development in the current era of rapid global change at the Stockholm Resilience Centre. He is a leading scientist on global water resources, with about 25 years of experience from applied water research in tropical regions, and more than 150 research publications in fields ranging from applied land and water management to global sustainability. Aside from his research helping to guide policy, Rockström consults several governments and business networks. He also acts as an advisor for sustainable development issues at noteworthy international meetings, such as the World Economic Forum, the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conferences (UNFCCC). Supplementary, he chairs the advisory board for the EAT Foundation and the Earth League.
Rick Duke serves as Deputy Special Envoy for Climate, focused on encouraging major economies to define and implement ambitious emission reduction targets under the Paris Agreement. He also works through other forums and initiatives to accelerate global progress towards carbon-free energy and to advance complementary “fast cooling” strategies, including rapidly reducing methane emissions. Previously, he was a consultant and Brookings Institution senior fellow. He also served as Special Assistant to President Obama, helping to craft and implement the Climate Action Plan, including defining the 2025 emissions reduction target for the Paris Agreement, spearheading an interagency push for the Kigali Amendment on HFCs to the Montreal Protocol, and authoring the U.S. Mid-Century Strategy for deep decarbonization. Previously, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary at DOE and worked at NRDC and McKinsey. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton.

He is the author of the #1 New York Times best-sellers "An Inconvenient Truth" and "The Assault on Reason," and the best-sellers “Earth in the Balance,” "Our Choice: A Plan To Solve the Climate Crisis," "The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change," and most recently, The New York Times best-seller "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.” He is the subject of the documentary movie “An Inconvenient Truth,” which won two Oscars in 2006 -- and a second documentary in 2017, “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.” In 2007, Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, along with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, for “informing the world of the dangers posed by climate change.”
Catherine McKenna is Canada's former Minister of Environment and Climate Change as well as Minister of Infrastructure. She is the Principal of Climate and Nature Solutions, an advisory firm focused on scaling action and financing to tackle the climate crisis. She chaired the UN Secretary General’s High-Level Expert Group on Net-Zero setting out criteria for net zero commitments of business, financial institutions, cities and regions. She is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Columbia University and launched Women Leading on Climate.
