In recent years, Kerry was the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace’s first ever Visiting Distinguished Statesman, following his four years as the 68th United States Secretary of State. From 1985 to 2013, he served as a U.S. Senator representing Massachusetts, and was Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2009 to 2013. Secretary Kerry served in the U.S. Navy.
Gina McCarthy is the first White House national climate advisor, since 2021. As head of the Climate Policy Office and supported by legislation, her leadership has helped put within reach a greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of 50% below 2005 levels by 2030. McCarthy was previously president and CEO of the Natural Resources Defense Council and a Harvard professor. From 2013 to 2017, she was EPA administrator, spearheading the Clean Power Plan and helping pave the way for the Paris Agreement. Earlier, she was commissioner of Connecticut’s Department Environmental Protection and advised five Massachusetts governors. Advising Bloomberg Philanthropies, Pegasus Capital Advisors and TPG Rise Climate Fund, McCarthy is co-chair of the America Is All In Coalition, senior fellow at Tufts University Fletcher School’s Climate Policy Lab, co-chair of the India-U.S. Track II Dialogue on Energy and Climate Change, and on the boards of the Energy Foundation and Resources Legacy Foundation.
Elected in 2012, Jay Inslee is the longest serving governor in the United States. Washington has seen historic economic growth over that time and has been consistently ranked as one of the best states to live, work and do business. He has helped put Washington state at the forefront of fighting climate change; put massive new investments into education, behavioral health and housing; and helped families by funding the Working Families Tax Credit and implementing the nation’s best paid family leave program.
Having enjoyed tremendous success as a stage and screen actress, Jane Fonda now focuses much of her time on activism and social change – with much of her work devoted to the program she founded in 1995, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (G-CAPP). Fonda is a member of the Women & Foreign Policy Advisory Committee of the Council on Foreign Relations; The board of Women’s Media Center, which she helped found in 2004; and she sits on the board of V-Day: Until The Violence Stops, a global effort to stop violence against women.
For more than 40 years, Senator Markey has served the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Congressman and U.S. Senator. He has been a national leader and author of some of the most important laws in the areas of energy, the environment, and telecommunications policy. On a bipartisan basis, he has passed more than 500 pieces of legislation into law. He has been a powerful and effective voice for enhancing energy efficiency, transitioning our economy to clean and sustainable energy resources and mitigating the consequences of climate change; bolstering U.S. and global security by staunching nuclear proliferation and promoting arms control; defending human rights; enacting financial reforms to protect consumers and investors against the types of abuses that directly triggered the global recession; ensuring the continued openness of the internet; and advancing the interests of consumers by injecting competitiveness into electric, telecommunications and telephone markets, and protecting the privacy of personal information. Senator Markey currently serves as Chair of the Clean Air, Climate and Nuclear Safety Subcommittee on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, as well as the Chair of the Primary Health and Retirement Security Subcommittee on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. He is also a member of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee and the Small Business Committee. Senator Markey received his B.A. from Boston College and his J.D. from Boston College Law School. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and two terms in the Massachusetts State House before being elected to Congress.
Born and raised in New Mexico, Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury leads with determination and compassion. She has dedicated her career to finding solutions to water issues, poverty, and climate change — representing New Mexico in the Legislature and now in Congress. She is a champion of efforts to address hunger, food, and water insecurity, conservation and climate change, and economic development and recovery. Rep. Stansbury worked in communities across the state as a STEM educator, researcher on land and water issues, and served as a staffer in the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and the White House Office of Management and Budget. As the Congresswoman from New Mexico’s First Congressional District, she is working hard to lift up the voices of our communities and tackle our biggest challenges— from economic development, to food and water security, to climate change. Congresswoman Stansbury serves New Mexicans on the House Committee on Natural Resources and the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability.

Bill Nye is a science educator, engineer, and comedian. He is CEO of The Planetary Society, a nongovernmental space organization. Nye is also the executive producer and host of the science series, “The End is Nye.” Previously, he created and hosted the Emmy Award-winning television series “Bill Nye the Science Guy,” which introduced science and engineering in an entertaining and accessible manner. A champion of scientific literacy who has challenged opponents of evidence-based education and policy on climate change, evolution, and critical thinking, Nye is the author of Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation. He has appeared as a guest commentator on CNN, “Good Morning America,” and MSNBC, among other programs.
I am currently an Arnhold Distinguished Fellow at Conservation International. From 2021-23, I served as the Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans, International Environmental and Scientific Affairs and was the first ever US Envoy for Biodiversity and Water Resources. I have had a long career working at the intersection of government, policy, law and advocacy on conservation and climate change.
Ebony Twilley Martin is the former Executive Director of Greenpeace USA. As an accomplished operations leader and justice, equity, diversity & inclusion strategist, Ebony has over fifteen years of experience in the corporate and non-profit sectors. At Greenpeace USA, she develops the overall strategic direction, representation, policy, resources, communications and operations. With a passion for equity in the environmental movement, Ebony is a champion and change agent for environmental justice and fostering a just, diverse and inclusive work environment and culture. She advances the work of Greenpeace USA through outreach, relationship-building, and partnerships to build a domestic and international progressive movement based in peace, sustainability and social justice. Ebony holds a Masters in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland. A classically trained vocalist, she received a BA in music from Immaculata University. Ebony’s faith is deeply connected to her pursuit of justice, and she is an active leader in her church. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, two boys and dog.
Leah Thomas is an environmental justice advocate passionate about exploring the relationship between climate, justice, art and culture. With a background in Environmental Science & Policy, Leah started her career in corporate sustainability at Patagonia HQ and later founded the non-profit Intersectional Environmentalist. In 2021, she launched the project Earth Sessions, a climate optimism and community-driven art program centered on environmental justice solutions and utilizing creativity as a vehicle for positive change. She is the author of The Intersectional Environmentalist: How to Dismantle Systems of Oppression to Protect People + Planet book and has been honored on lists including EBONY Power 100, TIME100 Next, and INSIDER’s Climate Action 30. She is based in Los Angeles, California - but proudly born in Saint Louis, Missouri.

As the bassist for AJR, he has traveled the world on sold-out tours, achieved platinum certifications in numerous countries, and recorded a repertoire of music that has garnered more than 7 billion streams worldwide. In the 2021/2022 touring season, Adam has played live in front of over 1 Million fans. As the founder and Executive Director of Planet Reimagined, he leads a nonprofit that addresses climate change systems through media, academic research fellowships, and incentive-based initiatives. Adam’s work with the UN Development Programme as a Development Advocate fosters awareness on social media and beyond of sustainability, rights violations and solutions. In Washington DC, Adam has worked closely with the EPA, The Department of Energy, and The White House on innovative renewable energy policy, and with a bipartisan coalition in Congress to help pass the Inflation Reduction Act. He has brought his interdisciplinary perspective to his writing for publications including TIME, Rolling Stone, Billboard Magazine, Fortune, Mashable, and Quartz, and he is the host of the podcast Planet Reimagined.
