As the Senior Manager - Global Energy at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Kimm Jarden leads the implementation of the energy optimization program strategy, which includes energy efficiency, renewable energy, and technology development. She has over twelve years of experience in energy management and sustainability, and holds multiple certifications, such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM), and Certified Water Efficiency Professional (CWEP). Kimm also serves as the subject matter expert for manufacturing operations in the Climate Change Operating Committee, and develops organizational capability, processes and tools to enable manufacturing plants to execute energy projects in a standard way. She has contributed to a 15% reduction in GHG emissions since 2019, and has led the development and execution of the renewable energy program to achieve 100% renewable electricity by 2040. Kimm is passionate about driving Goodyear's energy and climate strategy with expertise and leadership, and supporting the company's vision of delivering sustainable mobility solutions.
Tristan Schwartzman is Director of Energy Services at Goldman Copeland. Tristan has completed energy audits and retro-commissioning projects for more than 30 million square feet of commercial properties. He has also led those buildings through the design and implementation of annual multi-million-dollar capital improvement projects based on the findings of those reports, generating energy savings and financial savings for property owners.
Mr. Oliver founded Earthwide, LLC in 2019 to provide Energy and Sustainability Master Planning, CO2 reduction action plans, and energy & sustainability consulting services. A passionate energy conservationist with over 29 years of energy and sustainability management, he has specialized in energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable design, energy audits and retro-commissioning, and facility assessments, for buildings in the commercial, educational, and government sectors. In 1998 he founded EMO Energy Solutions, LLC, one of the fastest growing energy conservation and sustainability companies in the DC area in the 2000’s, and served as its President until 2017.
Keith Katyora, CEM, Regional Integration Specialist, Empower Southern Africa (ESA), has shown outstanding leadership in advancing sustainable energy solutions across Southern Africa. Keith has been pivotal in driving tangible impacts on carbon emissions reduction and energy resilience, specifically on healthcare electrification projects. With a strong technical background and a history of spearheading transformative projects in decarbonization, energy efficiency, and resilience, Keith has made significant contributions to the region’s energy sector. His achievements include unlocking transmission capacity, overseeing healthcare electrification initiatives, and pioneering net-zero strategies. Keith’s commitment to innovation, community engagement, and mentorship exemplifies his dedication to shaping a more sustainable future.
Priya Raghuraman in a Systems Engineering Professional on the Protection and Automation Innovation team at Siemens Industry. Priya’s role involves research and publication in substation automation, IIoT, microgrid control, and digital substations. As a mentor and power system protection instructor for the MV Engineering team at Siemens Industry, she has successfully trained 17 engineers with a range of expertise levels, from fresh college graduates to senior professional engineers with over 25 years of industry experience. Priya is responsible for fostering relationships between Siemens Industry and Universities to mentor students for future workforce development as well as hands-on experience with capstone projects, smart grid laboratory development, and mentorship programs to encourage students to pursue a career in the electrical manufacturing industry. As an instructor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NCSU, Priya taught a unique course on communication and SCADA in smart grids, guiding graduate students through software and hardware experiments essential for smart grid operations. These skills are deemed vital for the future workforce in the field of Smart Grids. Her contribution to the IEEE Standards Association with PSRC ensures that the standards, reports, and technical guides are up to date with the latest technological developments in the field of Power System Protection.
As Global Energy Manager for Eaton Corporation, have led the organization in developing a strategy to reduce carbon through various green supply contracts, implementing renewables from concept to implementation and developing a pipeline of 70+ solar projects. Prior experience included background including, leading and developing teams of business development, supply-chain and operations with 20+ years of diverse energy experience.
Dr. Al-Ragom holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in Mechanical Engineering. She currently serves as a Research Scientist at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). She has over 25 years of experience in energy conservation, energy efficiency, energy auditing, air conditioning, and thermochemical hydrogen production. She authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters and holds several shared patents. She is the recipient of several national, regional, and international awards. She is a fellow member of the AEE and served as the President of the Association of Energy Engineers in 2022. She is currently serving as an AEE board member at large.
Since founding Profitable Green Solutions in 1995, Dr. Woodroof has identified/developed financially attractive energy projects, making businesses more cost-competitive and “green”. As a strategic advisor, project developer, expert witness, trainer, and keynote speaker, Dr. Woodroof openly shares best practices via several books, 100+ published articles, and other media. He has created certifications and training programs endorsed by countries on 6 continents. In 2011, Dr. Woodroof also served as President of the Association of Energy Engineers, which has over 19,000 members in over 90 countries. He is the lead instructor and editor for the Certified Energy Manager Program (CEM). He serves on several certification/advisory boards, and is the Chairman of the Energy Management Professional Council.
Mr. Kassab serves as the Pentagon’s Energy Program Manager where he is the lead to develop WHS’s Energy Resiliency Master Plan. In his current role at WHS, Mr. Kassab manages, advises, and assists in the implementation of energy management programs to meet statutory requirements (Executive Order (EO), Energy Policy Act (EPAct), etc.). He oversees the application of multi-year energy resiliency, renewable energy, and energy security strategic plan and monitors progress toward accomplishing objectives. He coordinates with WHS internal stakeholders, other DOD components, the Department of Energy, and other federal agencies for strategic planning, funding of projects, and deploying new energy efficiency and enhancement technologies and equipment to modernize FSD's facilities.
