17:30 TRT / 15:30 CET — Cooling the Planet: Can We Fast-Track the Kigali Amendment?

Ten years ago, nations adopted the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. Together, the Montreal Protocol and Kigali Amendment have not only helped save the ozone layer and provided big support for climate action, but maybe the best is yet to come as nations rally to ensure that the massive looming demand for cooling does not cause more global warming. Can the Kigali Amendment help here too? In this first episode, we will come back on what happened at the Montreal Protocol’s Kigali Amendment 10th Anniversary meeting and explore what is needed for a sustained, highest-level-possible, action to phase down and out HFCs.

19:30 TRT / 17:30 CET — Electrification Needs Energy Efficiency

Electrification is moving to the centre of the global climate agenda. The COP31 Presidency’s 35-by-35 Global Electrification Pledge calls for electricity to supply 35% of global final energy consumption by 2035. Energy efficiency must be central to delivering these ambitions. So, what role can industry and cities play in unlocking the full value of efficiency? 17:30 TRT / 15:30 CET — Two Birds in One Stone: How Restoring Nature Can Help Fight Climate Change and Protect Wildlife

Extreme heat, loss of habitats, wildfire. The list goes on and it is pretty clear that climate change and biodiversity loss go hand-in-hand. Since the 1970s, the Grassland bird population in North America has declined by 43%. In the EU, 63% of species are in poor or bad conservation status. The situation is dire, so how do we deal with it? Together with experts, we will dive into how restoring nature can help us mitigate and adapt to climate change and protect wildlife. From reforestation efforts to wetland restoration and agricultural transformation, this session will explore the solutions nature offers to build resilience for both wildlife and humans. Saving two birds in one stone.

17:30 TRT / 15:30 CET — Cooling the Planet: Beyond HFCs: A Treaty for Super Pollutants?

Ten years ago, nations adopted the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. Together, the Montreal Protocol and Kigali Amendment have not only helped save the ozone layer and provided big support for climate action, but maybe the best is yet to come as nations rally to ensure that the massive looming demand for cooling does not cause more global warming. Can the Kigali Amendment help here too? In this fourth and last episode, we will explore what the next steps are. Is it time for a similar standalone treaty for super-pollutants? What are the options to turn from a voluntary landscape to something stronger?

This session is pre-recorded the morning of the day before it is broadcasted on We Don’t Have Time.

17:30 TRT / 15:30 CET — The Understory, Live Recording

A podcast where nature restoration gets real.

The case for restoring the world's forests and ecosystems has been made — repeatedly. The Understory is for everyone ready to ask what comes next: the practitioners, scientists, and builders working on the harder questions the main stages don't have room for.

18:00 TRT / 16:00 CET — Futureproofing Connectivity: Decarbonising Mobile Networks for a Cleaner, Climate Resilient Future

Mobile networks underpin modern life, but they must undergo an energy transition as well as ensure they remain resilient to a rapidly changing climate. How will we futureproof connectivity? In this session, we bring together key industry stakeholders to explore how operators can pursue decarbonisation and resilience simultaneously.
