Medborgarrådet – The Swedish Citizen's Assembly on Climate

Watch the expert keynotes and interviews from Sweden's first-ever Citizen's Assembly on Climate

We Don't Have Time and FAIRTRANS are proud to present the expert keynotes and interviews from Sweden's first Citizens' Assembly on Climate launched in March 2024.

Over a total of nine meetings, 60 participants will educate themselves on climate, debate  policy, and develop proposals on how Sweden could fulfill its commitments under the Paris Agreement.

Participants are randomly selected through scientific methods to ensure the council reflects Sweden's population. They are entirely free in their discussions and decisions but receive evidence from experts in climate science and policy. By the end of May 2024, they will vote on the proposals and present their conclusions.

The Citizens' Assembly is part of the FAIRTRANS research program. The project is a collaboration between Stockholm University, the University of Gävle, Uppsala University, Lund University, and IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute.
